Journey of a Dreamer

I Don’t Like Taking Tests

by John on Jul.03, 2009, under Non-Lucid Dreams, Uncategorized

I must have had at least 3 dreams last night. Unfortunately for me I only remember the last one in great detail. Part of the issue here is that I don’t bother to write anything down when I wake up for my WILD attempts. I should make the extra effort from now on.

Anyway, most of this dream took place in side a classroom….except for when I was….well….I guess I was daydreaming, as I often do during lectures.

The topic of the lectures was American History. There were only four or so people in this classroom, not including the teacher, who kind of looked my Database Structures professor…..

I really wish I could remember more of what my whimsical fantasies were about, but alas, I am not so lucky. I do however explicitly remember who one of the students was. An old friend, someone I admire so very much, but will never have the courage to say.

After the lecture we were sent out to the hallway and sat on the floor to take our tests. We had to list all Presidents in order from beginning to last. I thought to myself there was noway in hell I was going to be able to do this. As soon as we sat down everyone else got up to turn their test in.

I was dismayed. I then got out a cheat sheet….which was a sheet of paper with all the presidents on it covered with another sheet of paper that had been cut to reveal only the eyes of each President. Wow, that’s pretty damn weird! Anyway, I rushed to complete the test because I was wanted to catch up with her because she had turned in her test so quickly.

I woke up soon thereafter.

Township in the woods.

by John on Jun.28, 2009, under Non-Lucid Dreams, Uncategorized

I must say this was quite the interesting dream.

I was exploring various landscapes for whatever reason, and I went through several. Where I remember starting out was in some vast plains with rolling hills. They were covered in what looked like wheat and had houses spread our sparingly. I remember commenting out loud, “This is beautiful, but I bet it gets lonely and depressing during the winter.” I went to some oasis kind of thing that had a huge rock with a door and that door was taking to me the different landscapes.

I went to the mountains next and was on top of a huge mountain. I started running down but ended up just make huge leaps all the way down. I wound up in some woods that had a peculiar layout and I started building a house.

As soon as the first one was finished a bunch of people I know started showing up. They went upstairs and started to watch a sporting event.

I went to work on another that I decided was going to be mine. Shortly after someone came to me and said they needed me to play a game a baseball. I went in to my room and lifted up the bed to find my baseball uniform from high school filthy as hell. I put it on and went to a field and was told the game was over. Oh boy.

And that’s as much as I was able to remember. This was a pretty vivid dream and involved lots of internal thinking, most of which I remember. Need to refine my reality checking skills some more and I should be smooth sailing!

Sorry for the hiatus.

by John on Jun.27, 2009, under Uncategorized

I’ve been busy with a new job and haven’t had the chance to come in and post some of my recent dreams.

I’ve had a few lucids since I last posted, and it’s become apparent to me that it is now time for me to concentrate on being able to maintain lucidity.

This is probably the area that I am most having problems with, and I think I am going to consult with my Dream Guide Shift.

Need to improve

by John on Jun.03, 2009, under Non-Lucid Dreams, Uncategorized

So the dream I had last night is very spotty because I had to get up and rush to get ready. I guess that’s what I get for staying up a little bit later than usual.

All I can really remember is that I was at a house with some people. I can only recognize one of them at the moment, Matt.

Anyway, I just remember getting kicked out and told I had to leave…

Short, sweet, and disappointing.

Zombies at Sea.

by John on Jun.02, 2009, under Lucid Dreams

Woot! This one was a lucid dream. I seriously need to put some effort in to dream control, but I’m spending so much time on getting better at recall that I need some help methinks.

It was one where I didn’t have control of anything. It was pretty intense. My memory in a couple of spots is hazy so I went over the most important stuff.

I was on a yacht out on the high seas and there was a storm brewing. I climbed up to the pilot’s nest and as I was on the ladder the boat started getting tossed around and the waves were knocking in to me while I was holding on as hard as I could.

I’m not gonna lie, getting swept away in the middle of ocean is a huge fear of mine, even with the training I’ve had. I’d freak out.

So I made it to the top of the nest and I was getting thrown around and shit. So then a shit ton of zombies start climbing out of the god damn water and on to the boat. I gotta stop playing Left 4 Dead so much. So they started making their way up the ladder and I keep kicking them down, all while this fucking storm keeps raging. Eventually, somehow the boat gets turned upside down, and for some stupid dream reason I fell through the canopy! IWNDUIBDUIEBD.

So I composed myself while I was falling, cause it was like forever. I closed my eyes and opened them and I was like…standing in suburbia and there was a bunch of people. I looked near the closest one and he said, “Look the vendies up”. I have no effing idea what he was trying to tell me. Anyway I looked at the clouds, and they we’re moving really fast…like in stop motion going back and forth. And the sky was purple. At that point my vision because to get blurry and started shaking. Then I woooooooke up :(

May 20th, 2009 - Animal Mayhem.

by John on May.20, 2009, under Non-Lucid Dreams

Hmmm, woke up at 2am for some reason with a dream fresh in my mind.

So anyway, tonight will give you a pretty good insight in to my dreams. I’m sure many people might consider the following a nightmare, but I have dreams of this nature all the time. Of course, during the course of the dream I do feel a wide array of emotions, fear included. But to me these dreams are more adventures than anything…so lets begin.

To start out, I was visiting a friend and we were headed to his house and I was driving. He told me to do whatever his dad said because he was “some kind of prick”. When we arrived I quipped with his dad but can’t at all remember what I was saying. I was being a sarcastic ass as far as I can remember.

So, we then left and headed off to take flight lessons. We arrived at the building and for some reason I was running down the hallway on all fours, really really fast. When I arrived at the room, there was a slew of people from my high school years, including my band instructor who was teaching the class. I think people from high school are dream signs for me, because it occurs quite often.

The class was underway and I leaned over and whispered to someone, “You know why California sucks? Because Arnold is the Govenor!”. I got a few laughs and then all of a sudden a storm began to RAGE outside. It began to flood and the class was dismissed.

Leaving the building the entire landscape was different. It looked like the place had been hit by a hurricane. And to make matters worse, all the animals had begun to mutate or something. Seemed to me that the mutant animals were controling the animals who hadn’t mutated. So being stranded like I was, I went back in to the building and started looking for a boat for some reason. I went in to a room and some kind skinless racoon beast had finished eating someone. It signaled to me and proclaimed that he was full and had no intention of eating me, as long as I did as he asked.

I didn’t comply, and instead jumped from what seemed the 5th floor, even though I hadn’t trancended any stairs. I landed on a dock in a tuck roll and promptly found a boat to pilot. I managed to get a bay boat started and began to speed off from the scene that had just occured. The waterways were filled with debris and rubbish, and dodging everything was quite the chore. After a few moments of high speed dodging, I smacked in to a piling and was thrown in to the filthy, murky water below. I looked behind me and there was a bear to my left walking towards where I was. To make matters worse, the skinless racoon was swimming around me.

I began to swim as fast as I could toward a building and climbed up on to the dock. From the looks of it, someone was inside the house. The racoon finally hopped in front of me and started to threaten me. I grabbed some kind of sharp object nearby and speared it.

My focus shifted above the scene where a group of people were sealing some kind of magical barrier, keeping the rain from falling below.

I walked to the lighted window that was open and showed signs of occupancy and peaked inside. A shrill scream filled my ears and the most gruesome thing I had ever seen popped in front of me.

Scared me silly, and then I woke up!
